SIMU takes part in its 1st digital trade fair with R+T digital Stuttgart

The events sector, hard hit by the health crisis, has had no alternative but to reinvent itself. Many organisers are now choosing the digital option to maintain contact between exhibitors and visitors. This is the case of S+T Stuttgart, the world’s leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors, gates and sun protection systems. This took place for the first time as a fully digital event under the name R+T digital Stuttgart to enable its many participants to present their innovations developed in 2021.

R+T Stuttgart goes digital

Messe Stuttgart joined forces with the digital event specialist Meetyoo to perpetuate its international event and give it a new lease of life as a digital event.

A not-to-be-missed event for professionals in the roller shutter industry

After just a few months of preparation, the virtual platform of the international trade fair for roller shutters, doors and sun protection systems was launched on 22 February 2021, for four days.

This first edition, which brought together around 300 exhibitors and over 22,000 visitors from all over the world, plunged all the participants into a unique virtual experience. The platform gave visitors a total immersion experience, enabling them to access the stands of the various exhibitors exactly as they would have done in person. Participants had access in particular to presentations concerning the latest trends in interior and exterior sun protection, and innovations in the field of the connected home.

Digital, a preferable solution?

Although they will never replace physical events, digital trade fairs nevertheless offer many advantages:

  • Increased accessibility
  • Less costly
  • Better visitor traceability
  • Wider visibility for exhibitors
  • An improved carbon footprint

The digital trade fair is an excellent supplement to physical meetings and remains the preferable solution during health restrictions such as those we are currently experiencing. Other trade fairs have also opted to go digital for 2021, such as the BAU, the world’s leading Architecture, Materials and Systems trade fair in Munich, or the CES Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

SIMU joins R+T digital Stuttgart

SIMU, specialised in the design, manufacture and sale of motors, control systems and accessories for closure systems and sun protection, obviously accepted the invitation from R+T Stuttgart.

This brand new format enabled us to meet our customers and partners, present our innovations and introduce our company through the video testimonies of our employees.

The SIMU stand attracted some 1,800 visitors, who had the pleasure of discovering our three new products:

  • Autosun BHZ, our radio-controlled solar solution with information feedback, enabling the user to know the position of the motor in real time;
  • The intuitive range of electronic motors, T5 Auto BHZ and T5S Auto BHZ, for fully automatic settings adjustment;
  • The SIMUDRIVE control units for roller garage doors, industrial doors or three-phase motors.

The online platform remains accessible and offers the opportunity to watch the various presentations again up until the next R+T Stuttgart in February 2022.

There is no doubt that the digitalisation of the events sector is part of a lasting trend which supplements physical trade fairs. Digital technology makes it possible to be more creative, innovative and interactive, so why not imagine an experience in virtual reality or Street View navigation for a future edition?
